Verhoeff, Frederick Herman (1874–1968), American ophthalmologist. Verhoeff was an ophthalmic surgeon and pathologist at a Boston eye and ear infirmary and had a parallel career as a professor of ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. He introduced Verhoeff's stain in 1908.
